Our Story So Far

In 2011, Grace Fellowship Church East Toronto began meeting when Pastor Julian Freeman was commissioned by Grace Fellowship Church Toronto to lead a church planting initiative on the east side of the city. The church quickly settled in Don Mills.

Through the first few months the small church (around 20 people) met in the home of a family. It wasn't long, however, before more space was needed and our weekly meetings moved to Greenland Public School.

By the Lord's grace, the church quickly grew and became self-sustaining. By the end of 2011 the church had doubled in membership and hired a second staff member. In September 2012, we ordained our second ministry team member as pastor, giving the church a plurality of elders and full autonomy from GFC Rexdale. These years were marked by steady growth and close community.

In July 2014, we moved our Sunday services to Senator O'Connor College School near Lawrence and Victoria Park. We met there until 2020.

In September 2020, we found a new location to meet at the Latvian Canadian Cultural Centre near DVP and Eglinton.

In January 2021, our church joined the Great Commission Collective, appointed more elders, and hired Jason Lock as associate pastor. Since then, we’ve added additional elders to our team.

In Fall 2022, Julian Freeman concluded his ministry at GFC East. In October 2023, we hired Darryl Dash as our new senior pastor. In May 2024, we joined the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches.

Our church has experienced a lot of change since its beginning in 2011. Throughout the changes, God has been faithful. We are grateful to God for blessing and growing our church and its leadership.
